Last modified: September 8, 2011Starting out as a one-man operation, From Russia with Glove has evolved to a consistent team of dedicated, Russian-born, hockey enthusiasts.
Creator Sergei Miledin, a Moscow native and a graduate of Hunter College in New York City started the site in hopes of showcasing the NHL’s Russian talent. The site launched days before the trade deadline of 2009 and began almost instantly receiving hits from all the curious fans around the NHL.
In 2009, FRWG added Sergey Zikov. Sergey is an undergrad from the University of Pittsburgh who originally hails from St.Petersburg. He has since departed to pursue other ventures.
In 2010, the site added Shawn Reznik to carry the load after the departure of Zikov. Born to parents from the former Soviet Union, Reznik displayed similar attributes as his predecessors and his addition to the team was a no-brainer. An undergrad at Rutgers University, Reznik’s work has been featured throughout various hockey blogs and has even gained recognition on Yahoo’s Puck Daddy. He is a die-hard Philadelphia Flyers fan and despite this we are still very glad to have him.
