Earlier this morning, the Columbus Blue Jackets announced that goalie Sergei Bobrovsky would miss the coming two weeks with a broken finger. The 26-year-old Novokuznetsk native sustained the injury in practice on basic shooting drills according to head coach Todd Richards.

So far this season, Bob has posted a 4-4-0 record with an 2.81 goals against with a .908 save percentage on a Blue Jackets team already riddled with injuries. Bobrovsky is one win shy of 100 for his career and will become just the 5th Russian born player to reach the plateau.

The loss of the Vezina winning goalie obviously hurts Columbus who will now have to play much better than their .500 record in front of Curtis McElhinney and rookie Anton Forsberg. Bobrovsky was one of the big reasons Columbus clinched their first playoff berth last year and will rely heavily on him once he returns in hopes of making the post-season for another straight year.
