Bobrovsky Remains on the Case for Four More Years

The best goaltender to ever don a Columbus Blue Jacket jersey has secured his near-term future (by today’s contract standards) by signing a four-year extension. Sergei Bobrovsky agreed to add another few years to stay put by agreeing to a contract worth $29.7-million. The 26-year old will become the second highest paid netminder in the NHL with his $7.425 million cap hit for the next four seasons.

In 123 games for the Blue Jackets, Bob has posted a 68-41-13 record, with a .921 save percentage, a 2.43 GAA and 10 shutouts. He also won the Vezina in 2013. For the Blue Jackets they have security in the most crucial position and their beloved goalie will only be 30 when it’s time to go back to the negotiating table. It’s a smart move on both sides as Lumbus chases their first Stanley Cup.
