Sergei Fedorov Elected to The Hockey Hall of Fame

The Hockey Hall of Fame will induct just its sixth Russian-born player later this year as its saved the best for last with the nomination of Sergei Fedorov. In his first year of eligibility, the one-time Russian superstar will be immortalized among the likes of Gretzky, Howe, Kharlamov and Fetisov.

Soviet Coaching Legend, Viktor Tikhonov, Passes away at 84

Late last night, the family of Viktor Vasilyevich Tikhonov announced the 84-year-old coaching legend had passed away. One of hockey’s greatest minds was said to be bedridden for weeks with an undisclosed illness.

Russian Rocket Soars Into Hockey Hall of Fame

One of hockey’s most exciting players to don a pair of skates will be forever be immortalized today in Toronto as Pavel Bure becomes a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Known around the NHL as the “Russian Rocket” Bure played 13 seasons in the NHL where he spent time with the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers, and New York Rangers.
