Russia Announces Roster for 2014 IIHF World Championship

A new era of Russian hockey gets underway tomorrow in Minsk, Belarus as new head coach Oleg Znarok takes his shot at restoring pride in the Russian hockey program after an embarrassing exit in Sochi. Znarok has only brought back seven Olympians for the Men’s Worlds with the rest making their senior level debuts. Russia open up against Switzerland tomorrow before facing off against Finland, USA, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Germany, and Belarus. Having failed to medal last year, the new look team will hope to find the spark that was missing in Sochi. Will the likes of Ovechkin carry the team this time around?
