Semin Fined, Escapes Suspension

As a result of an incident in Washington’s loss to the Avalanche last night, Alexander Semin received a fine from the NHL but escaped any further punishment.  During the second period of Saturday’s game Semin received a 5 minute penalty and a 10 minute misconduct for cross checking John-Michael Liles in the head.

Colorado would score on the resulting power play.  Semin will try to help the Capitals end their 5 game losing streak as they take on the Rangers at Madison Square Garden Sunday night.  Semin is currently the leading goal scorer for the Capitals. Here is video of the incident
