Russia Save Face By Edging Canada For Bronze

Hockey’s biggest international rivals found themselves in unfamiliar territory playing each other for a medal that wasn’t gold for the first time ever in World Junior competition. What many expected to be the final game of the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships had to settle for the third place fixture as both teams failed to get the job done in the semi’s.

The Russians are Coming

Sound the sirens!  Run to your shelters!  The Russians are invading!  No, seriously.  In the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, 8 Russians were taken.  You look at that number and think, “Hey.  That really isn’t that many.”  And you’d be right in that regard.  However, this is the first time in four years that the number of Russians has increased.  Dont believe me?  Refer to the chart below:
